Like many in my district, I was raised in a Democratic household. My father was a WW veteran, both of my parents survived the Depression and my father was a social worker and former small business owner. I grew up in a rural, agricultural area where I learned the values of family, hard work and faith in God.

It was early in my college days that I changed parties and became a Republican, primarily over two issues - economics and abortion. I realized that the Democratic Party agenda would soon lead to Socialism and a failed economy; as a Christian I could not support abortion when at age 19 I fully understood the issue as an adult.

When elected I will work hard to fully re-open, recover and the rebuild our economy for the changing job market. I am tired of a failing school system ran by unions rather than parents and teacher, watching our children leave NM to find good jobs and an rapidly growing far left agenda of today's Democratic Party. This is no longer the party of JFK , moderates and conservatives Democrats are no longer welcome in their own party - as several learned during the Primary election.

  • It is time to fully re-open, recover and re-tool our economy for a rapidly changing job market.
  • Our school system, led by unions and lobbyists have failed our children and families. We are now last in test scores and first in drop out rates. We can do better and I have a plan to finally improve our schools -without raising taxes.
  • Traditional New Mexico values of family, faith and small business ownership are under attack. I am running to "Protect the New Mexico We all Love:
1) Economy

2) Education
3) Abortion
4) Rapid spread of socialism

5) Loss of traditional NM values
Jack Kemp, Ronald Reagan, Newt Gingrich, Margaret Thatcher, Walter Williams, Ravi Zachariah - All great conservative thinkers...
Faith and family, core values of who we are as a state
Successful experiences in small business, education and serving my community. I am hard working, devoted to my family, able to work with many people of different backgrounds to find common ground.
Properly and fairly represent those those of our district
A New Mexico where we are among the leaders in education, job growth, quality of life and preserving all that is good about our great state.
Delivering newspapers, from age 7 until 15
Murder on the Orient Express - A classic mystery by a great writer would be on my list of favorites.
I believe we all have challenges in life to overcome, different for each yet no doubt. I also believe that with hard work, faith in God and trust in our people - we can accomplish great things.
Each has their role, since the House more directly represents a local community I would lean toward the House in that question.
No necessarily, we are a citizen legislature which should be made of regular people who work hard every day in a variety of professions; not only career politicians and attorneys.
The continued decline of our economy, loss of jobs for our young people and the threat of losing the New Mexico we all love.
Balanced, mutual respect. The executive branch is to be one of three separate but equal branches, each has their own unique role - one is not more important than the other.
Yes, from both parties. I will not be a party-line only voter, if it is best for my county I will support it.
Would need to learn more about various options/ideas before deciding
Finance - Education - Transportation would be my professional background
In general, I have heard many express how their party (D) has left them behind. They struggle to remain loyal as their party make such huge changes to model states such as California.
