John Foster Symes
John Foster Symes (1878-1951) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. He was nominated by President Warren Harding on April 22, 1922. On April 14, 1950, Symes assumed senior status. He served until his death on April 5, 1951.[1]

Judicial nominations and appointments
District of Colorado
Symes was nominated by President Warren Harding on April 22, 1922, to replace Judge Robert E. Lewis. He was confirmed by the Senate on May 16, 1922, and received commission that same day. On April 14, 1950, he assumed senior status. Symes served until his death on April 5, 1951.[1] Symes was succeeded in this position by Judge William Knous.
