John G. Dalton is a judge of the Sixteenth Circuit Court in Illinois. He serves in the 2nd Subcircuit (Kane County). He was elected to this position on Nov. 6, 2012 and his current term expires in December of 2018.[1][2]
Education
Dalton received his B.A. degree from Augustana College and his J.D. degree from the University of Illinois College of Law.[3]
Career
Dalton has worked as an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom; a senior associate of Rothschild, Barry & Myers; senior counsel for Sears, Roebuck and Co.; and owner/attorney of the Law Offices of John G. Dalton. He has also worked as an arbitrator. In 2012, he was elected to the circuit court.[3]
Elections
2012
Dalton was elected to the Sixteenth Circuit Court on Nov. 6, 2012, defeating incumbent Judge John N. Walters with 53.6% of the vote. He was unopposed in the Democratic primary on March 20, 2012.[4][1][2]
