John Girgenti (Democratic Party) was a member of the New Jersey State Senate, representing District 35. He assumed office in 1990. He left office in 2012.

Girgenti (Democratic Party) ran for election to the New Jersey State Senate to represent District 38. He did not appear on the ballot for the Democratic primary on June 8, 2021.

Girgenti also served as Assistant Majority Leader from 2008 to 2012. Bills that have been sponsored by Senator Girgenti include Senate Bill 8 and Senate Bill 151.[1]

He also served as the Deputy Majority Leader in the New Jersey General Assembly in 1990.

Girgenti earned his B.A. in political science from Seton Hall University and his M.A. in government and public administration from St. John's University. He served as a sergeant in the United States Army National Guard from 1970 to 1976.[2]

On April 5, 2011, Girgenti announced he would not seek re-election in 2011.[3] On April 5, 2011, Girgenti announced he would not seek re-election in 2011. During the redistricting process, Girgenti's hometown of Hawthorne was moved out of District 35. Thus, he would need to move in order to run again in the same district.[3]
