Shropshire ran for election to the East Feliciana Parish Justice Court.
Primary: He received 55.3 percent of the vote in the primary on October 19, 2013, defeating Joyce A. Kent.
General: He won without opposition in the general election on November 16, 2013.His name did not appear on the ballot.[2][3]
Education
Shropshire earned a B.S. in secondary education (vocational agriculture) from Southern University. He also completed training at the USDA Graduate Schools Leadership Development Academy (Washington, DC), meeting the four core qualifications for senior executive service candidates.[4]
Career
Shopshire worked for over 31 years with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Grain Inspection Packers and Stockyard Administration, spending 18 years managing the United States' largest federal export inspection field office. His job required him to negotiate contracts, resolve conflict, manage resources and lead people.[4]
