John Hartwell
John Hartwell (b. January 8, 1947) was a Democratic candidate for District 26 of the Connecticut State Senate. The primary election was on August 10, 2010, and the general election was on November 2, 2010.
About
Hartwell earned his B.A. in political science from Earlham College in 1969 and his M.P.P.M. in Marketing and Accounting from Yale School of Management in 1987. His professional experience includes working as an instructor at Lockhead Aircraft International, curriculum manager at Saudi-Arabian Airlines, vice-president of Chase-Manhattan Bank and principal of Hartwell Associates.[1]

Hartwell was uncontested in the August 10 primary. He was defeated by incumbent Republican Antonietta Boucher in the November 2 general election.[2][3]

Hartwell and his wife, Janet, have two children. They reside in Westport, Connecticut. In addition to running for Connecticut State Senate, Hartwell has also served as coordinator for Democracy for Connecticut, treasurer of Ned Lamont for Senate and coordinator for Dean for America. He is also a member of the League of Women Voters and Rotary International.[1]
