John Hibbs was a member of the Arlington Independent School District in Texas, representing Place 6. Hibbs assumed office on June 21, 2022. Hibbs left office on May 18, 2023.

Hibbs ran for election to the Arlington City Council to represent District 6 in Texas. Hibbs lost in the general election on November 3, 2020.

Hibbs was appointed to the Arlington ISD Board of Trustees by the board to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of former incumbent Bowie Hogg.[1]

Two of the seven seats on the Arlington Independent School District school board were up for by-district general election on May 7, 2016. Incumbent John Hibbs defeated challenger Luis Castillo for the Place 4 seat. Incumbent Jamie Sullins ran unopposed and won re-election to the Place 5 seat.[2][3]
