John Icenogle
John Icenogle is a former judge for the District 9 Court in Nebraska. He joined the court in 1990 and also joined the Central Nebraska Adult Drug Court in 2006.[1][2] Icenogle retired from the court on January 1, 2016.[3]
Education
Icenogle received his B.A. from Columbia University in 1971 and his J.D. from Tulane University in 1974.[1]
Career
Icenogle began his career in 1974 as a private practice lawyer in Kearney, Neb. In 1976, he left this position to serve as a county court judge in the former 12th Judicial District (Buffalo & Hall Counties). He was then promoted to the district court in 1990. He joined the Central Nebraska Adult Drug Court in 2006.[1]

Icenogle was retained in the general election on November 6, winning 75.84 percent of the vote.[4][5]
2012 judicial performance evaluation
Every two years, the Nebraska State Bar Association compiles responses from lawyers to evaluate judges in the state. Subjects are rated in seven categories, then a determination is made for whether the judge should be retained. The seven categories considered are: legal analysis; impartiality; attentiveness; opinions; judicial temperament and demeanor; appropriate communication; and timeliness.
