John J. Erny III
John J. Erny III was a 2014 candidate for the 17th Judicial District in Louisiana.[1] Erny was defeated by Steve Miller in the 2014 election.[2]

Erny ran for election to the 17th Judicial District.
Primary: He was successful in the primary on November 4, 2014, receiving 30.4 percent of the vote. He competed against Anthony P. Lewis and Steve Miller.
General: He was defeated in the general election on December 6, 2014, after receiving 35 percent of the vote. He competed against Steve Miller.

Education
Erny received both his B.S. in finance and his J.D. degree from Louisiana State University in 1984 and 1988, respectively.[4]
Career
Erny has worked as a litigation attorney for 25 years. He is an attorney for Progressive Insurance. He has also taught business law at Nicholls State University.[4]
