The November 4, 2014, general election in Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District featured four seats up for election. In the Place 1 race, incumbent Juan "Sonny" Palacios Jr. faced a challenge from Patricio Eronini. Place 2 incumbent Jaime Chavana did not file for re-election. Eduardo "Eddie" Saenz Jr. and Oscar Salinas ran for that seat. Place 3 incumbent David Torres did not file for re-election, either; Ellie Torres and John J. Rodriguez faced off to replace him. In the Place 5 race, Martin "Doc" Castillo ran against Xavier Salinas.

Funding
Candidates must file reports with the Texas Ethics Commission or the appropriate county clerk. They must disclose the amount of each contribution (or the value and nature of any in-kind contribution), the name and address of the individual or political committee making the contribution and the date of the contribution.
