John J. Vandertoll

John J. Vandertoll was a judicial candidate for Kentucky Circuit Court 30 in 2010.[1]

Vandertoll has worked as an Assistant Public Defender, Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney, corporate attorney and private-practice trial attorney over the past 20 years. In a statement to the Courier-Journal, he said, "My legal education and experience have well prepared me to be a capable and fair Circuit Court Judge. I have the experience, knowledge and understanding of the law that it takes to make a good judge...I want to work towards ensuring that the administering of justice happens in a focused, resolute and purposeful way." He also pointed out that he is the only candidate who holds a Master's degree in Law (Master of Laws in Health Law - DePaul University College of Law 1996).

In a close race on November 2, 2010, Vandertoll was defeated by incumbent Brian C. Edwards, who received 50.17% of the vote.[1]
