John Jones (Illinois)
John Jones is a former Republican member of the Illinois State Senate, representing District 54 from 2003 to 2013. He served as an Assistant Minority Leader in the Illinois Senate. Jones also served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1995 to 2003.
Jones graduated with his High School Diploma from Mount Vernon Township High School in 1958. Jones is a retired trucking company owner.

Jones ran for re-election to the Illinois State Senate in District 54 in the 2012 election. However, he withdrew from the race on January 4, 2012.[2] Jones was set to face Kyle McCarter, the District 51 incumbent, in the Republican primary on March 20, 2012.[3][4][5]
Jones was targeted for defeat by Family-Pac.[6]
2008
On November 4, 2008, Republican John Jones won re-election to the Illinois State Senate District 54 receiving 63,944 votes, ahead of Republican Henry Kijonka (27,337 votes).[7]
