John Junkins is a former acting West Virginia Commissioner of Labor.[1] He began serving in the position in 2013, when he was tapped to replace resigned officeholder David Mullins.[2]

Junkin began working in the labor industry in 1981 as a wage and hour inspector. He also worked as a field supervisor and labor program specialist. [3]

Political career

West Virginia Commissioner of Labor (2013-present)

Junkins previously served as a deputy commissioner in the Division of Labor under David Mullins, who was appointed labor commissioner in 2009 by then-Governor Joe Manchin. Junkins was named acting labor commissioner in late 2013 following Mullins' resignation. He served in the position until his retirement in late 2016.[2][3][4]
