John K. Motsinger, Sr.
John K. Motsinger, Sr. was a 2014 Democratic candidate for District 31 of the North Carolina State Senate.
Biography
Motsinger earned his B.A. in Politics and French from Washington and Lee University in 1970, his M.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University in 1972 and his J.D. from Wake Forest University in 1983. His professional experience includes working as an attorney, as a teacher at Guilford College, High Point University and Randolph Community College, as a teacher of family mediation to attorneys, therapists and other practicing professionals, as the owner and manager of a radio station and as a government employee for the U. S. Atomic Energy Commission’s Department of Regulation and the U. S. Postal Service’s Consumer Advocate’s office.[1]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 28, 2014. Incumbent Joyce Krawiec defeated Dempsey Brewer and Steve Wiles in the Republican primary, while John K. Motsinger, Sr. was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Krawiec defeated Motsinger in the general election.[2][3]
