Recall supporters

Duane Matelski was the lead petitioner seeking to remove Kimmel from office. Matelski accused Kimmel of misappropriating funds and not listening to feedback from the public during a debate over fracking.[1] The initial recall petition by Matelski was submitted one day after a one-year moratorium on fracking concluded.[3]

Response by John Kimmel

Kimmel accused of Matelski of making false accusations in his recall petition. He also said in reference to fracking opponents, "They wanted stricter guidelines than what the experts and the engineers had recommended with no basis to back it up."[1]
