John Edward Kirkland is a county judge of the Polk County Court of Florida. He was elected in 2006 and re-elected in 2012. His current term expired on January 8, 2019.[1][2]

Education

Kirkland earned his B.A. from the University of South Florida and his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law.[3][1]

Career

Kirkland was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1978.[3] Before serving on the Polk County Court, he worked as an assistant public defender, a prosecutor, and in private practice.[1]

2012 election

Kirkland was unopposed and automatically re-elected following the Nov. 6, 2012 general election.[2][4]
