John L. Brown was a judge for the Sixth Judicial Circuit in South Dakota. He was appointed to the seat in 2008. He was appointed presiding judge in August 2011, following the elevation of Lori Wilbur to the South Dakota Supreme Court where he served until his retirement from the court in 2021.[1]
