John L. Phillips is a judge of the 15th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was appointed by former Governor Bob Martinez on November 7, 1989, effective January 1 of the following year.[1] He was re-elected in 2008 and 2014, and his current six-year term expires on January 4, 2021.[2][3][4]

Phillips ran for re-election to the Fifteenth Circuit Court.
As an unopposed candidate, he was automatically re-elected without appearing on the ballot. [3] 

Education

Phillips received a B.S. degree in business administration from Florida Southern College in 1972 and a J.D. degree from the Ohio State University College of Law in 1976.[5]

Career

Phillips began his career in 1976 as an assistant state attorney for Palm Beach County. He then worked as a civil litigation attorney in private practice from 1979 until he was appointed to the Palm Beach County Court in 1986. In 1990, he was elevated to the circuit court.[5]
