John LaHood
John LaHood (Republican Party) is a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 175. He assumed office on February 19, 2018. His current term ends on January 11, 2027.
LaHood (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Georgia House of Representatives to represent District 175. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Biography
John LaHood was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives through a special election in February of 2018. LaHood has served on several committees, including Health & Human Services, Human Relations & Aging, Game, Fish & Parks and Information and Audits. His professional experience includes being the owner and president of Fellowship Senior Living, Inc.[1]
LaHood's community involvement includes Leadership Georgia (Class of 2015), Georgia Senior Living Association, Assisted Living Association of Georgia (past president), Valdosta/Lowndes Chamber of Commerce, Valdosta Rotary Club and the Boys & Girls Club.[2]

2018 special election
A special election for the position of Georgia House of Representatives District 175 was held on February 13, 2018. The filing deadline for candidates running in this election was January 12, 2018.[3]
The seat became vacant on December 31, 2017, after Amy Carter (R) resigned to become executive director of advancement for the Technical College System of Georgia.[4]
John LaHood (R) defeated Treva Gear (D), Bruce Phelps (R), and Coy Reaves (R) in the special election.[5]
