John Lawrence was a 2014 judicial candidate for the position of assistant judge in Grand Isle County, Vermont.[1]

Lawrence ran for election to the Vermont Superior Courts, as an assistant judge of Grand Isle County.
Primary: He was successful in the Democratic primary on August 26, 2014, receiving 41.1 percent of the vote. He competed against Sherri Potvin. Lawrence also filed as an Independent. 
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 27.7 percent of the vote. He competed against Republican incumbent Joanne R. Batchelder and Democratic incumbent Sherri Potvin for two open seats. [1][2]
