John Lewis Smith, Jr. (1912-1992) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

Smith was nominated by President Lyndon Johnson on October 6, 1966, to a seat vacated by Luther Youngdahl; he was confirmed by the Senate on October 20, 1966, and received commission on November 3. He served as chief judge from 1981-1982, and assumed senior status on January 31, 1983. He served until his death on September 4, 1992.
