John Leydon Jr. was an at-large member of the Stamford Board of Education. He first served on the board as a Democrat from 1997-2000. He won a new tenure on the board as a Republican in 2010. He won re-election to the board as a Republican against five other candidates on November 5, 2013. Leydon resigned from the board in July 2015, citing his wife's employment with the district as a conflict with the board's policies.[1]
Biography
Leydon previously spent six years on the Stamford Board of Representatives. He is an attorney specializing in real estate law with a practice in Stamford. Leydon has three children who are currently attending district schools.[2][3]

2010
Leydon won election to the board in 2010 by placing fourth out of eight candidates for three available seats. He finished ahead of Robert King for the third board seat due to a state law that requires a minimum of three seats on local boards to be held by minority parties.[5]
