John M. Czygier, Jr. is a judge for the Suffolk County Surrogate's Court in New York. He has served in this position since 2002, following his election. His current term ends in 2021. He has also served as an Acting Justice for the Suffolk County Supreme Court since 2009.[1][2]
Education
Czygier received his B.A. degree from Adelphi University in 1970 and his J.D. degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 1974.[1]
Career
Czygier began his career in 1974 as an Assistant District Attorney in Suffolk County. The following year, he became an associate of the law firm of Gatz and Arnoff. He became a partner of that firm (which was renamed to Gatz, Arnoff & Czygier) in 1977. He ran his own firm, the Law Offices of John M. Czygier, Jr., from 1995 through 2001. In 2002, he joined the Surrogate's Court.[1]
