John M. Shriver is the chief judge for the Orphans Court of Washington County in Washington County, Maryland.[1] He has served as a judge on the court since 1994. Shriver has been the chief judge since January 3, 2011. He previously served as chief judge from 2002 to 2007.[2] Shriver ran for re-election to the Orphans Court of Washington County in 2014, winning a new term that expired on December 31, 2018.[3][4]

Shriver ran for re-election to the Orphans Court of Washington County.
Primary: He was successful in the Republican primary on June 24, 2014, receiving 25.2 percent of the vote. He competed against Cassandra Laverne Costley, Paul Cox, Joseph W. Eichelberger, and incumbent Judges Frank E. Novinger and Robert Adair. Primary candidates competed for 3 seats. 
General: He faced Joseph W. Eichelberger, Cassandra Laverne Costley, Linda Davis, and Eileen W. Wiggins in the general election on November 4, 2014, and won with 25.8 percent of the vote. Candidates competed for three open seats. [3][5] 

2010

Shriver was re-elected to the Orphans Court of Washington County (along with Robert Adair and Frank E. Novinger) in the general election on November 2, 2010. He received 30.01% of the vote.[6]

Education

Shriver has attended many education seminars related to the work performed by the Orphans Court of Washington County.[2]

Career

Shriver is a driving education instructor at the Widmyer Driving School.[2]
