2010 election

Williams ran for election to the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas in November 2010. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary. Williams ran against Tracie Hunter in the general election, and, after the original count, held 50.64% of the vote and was originally declared the winner of the election.[6][7][8] The race was not decided until July 2012, when the Republican Party dropped its appeal against Hunter as the winner.[6] At issue was a legal dispute over whether to count 849 ballots which were cast in the wrong precincts. The Ohio Supreme Court ordered the erroneous ballots to be ignored, but U.S. District Judge Susan Dlott ruled that 149 of such ballots were only wrong because of poll worker errors and should be counted.[6]
