I'm a caring conservative from California where I saw one party dominate way too much, creating corruption, bureaucratic bloat, and no accountability. I want my kids and grandkids and everyone in Oregon to experience a robust two party system steeped in civil discussion and the best practical solutions.

As a public school teacher for 20 years in tough districts in LA, such as East LA and South Central, I saw what works and what doesn't. All kids want to succeed, but they often need more choices and a taste of success. Then they can take off. Less bureaucracy and more teachers would work wonders too.

Seeking to ameliorate the one party system in LA I ran for office in Assembly District 41 of the LAGOP, encompassing Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley. Being a more liberal district some of the Republicans had given up or joined the Democrats on the down low. I was able to appoint 14 very active members who are super productive today after restarting 4 years ago. More and more people came into the LAGOP to turn it around, making it more accountable and competitive. Check out the AD 41 webpage. The trends there and here are for more fair and true bipartenship.
  • Fairness, accountability, practical solutions from both parties.
  • Lower taxes, less regulations, and less bureaucracy helps everyone including government revenue. Both JFK and Reagan showed that.
  • I love nature but untested and only political solutions waste time and money.
We should all come to the table and discuss and compromise, as in a good marriage, to reach the ideal solutions for all. We are all in this together.
I would look up to a combination of JFK and Reagan.
the Bible is always a good source. In recent history films and books on Lincoln give practical guidance.
Honesty, accountability, transparency, selflessness, ability to compromise, and a sense of humor befit a good elected official.
Trying to look at all sides with a parental heart and a sense of optimism. Overall history is moving in the right direction.
Connect all parts of the body politic for the good of the whole.
a robust two party system leading to healthier communities and families.
I was in High School when the assassination of JFK came over the loud speaker! We were devastated.
I was a real estate agent for my Dad for one summer. I almost sold one house but their credit wasn't good enough.
Lord of the Rings which is a really a fun way to understand the Bible.
Don't step on Super Man's cape, don't spit in the wind, don't tug the mask off the old Lone Ranger.......Many know the rest.
Unfortunately, while going door to door I ran into a fair amount of people who feel that Portland and Oregon are spiraling downhill. I hope to be a catalyst to turn that around.
In Soviet Russia a Man Goes to Buy a Car... He goes up to the owner and asks for a car, to which the owner responds:

'You know there is a 10 year waiting list?'
The man then answers, 'OK,' and after some time he then agreed to buy a car.
So he pays for the car in advance, and just before he leaves he asks the owner,
'Can I pick the car up in the morning or afternoon?'
'It's 10 years away, what does it matter?'

'The plumber is coming in the morning'.
A legislature over dominated by one party shouldn't be using emergency powers. Only in a real emergency.
Financial transparency and government accountability are the key to all good government. The more the better.
