John McAfee (Tennessee judge)

John McAfee is a circuit court judge for the Eighth Circuit Court in Tennessee. He has served in this position since 2004.[1] He was re-elected without opposition in 2006 and 2014. His current eight-year term ends in 2022.[2][3]

Education
McAfee received his undergraduate degree from Lincoln Memorial University in 1988 and his J.D. degree from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law in 1991.[1]
Career
McAfee served in the U.S. Army as a judge advocate general officer (1992) and in the U.S. Army Reserve, where he achieved the rank of lieutenant colonel. He served on a combat tour in Somalia in 1993. In 1994, McAfee went on to work as an attorney in private practice in Tazwell, Tennessee. He worked in that capacity until 1998, when he became the judge of the Claiborne County General Sessions Court. He then joined the Eighth Circuit Court in 2004.[1]
