John McLaurin, Jr. is a judge for the 20th Chancery Court District in Mississippi. He was appointed to the court by Republican Governor Phil Bryant on May 27, 2015, and assumed office immediately. McLaurin was appointed to replace former Judge Dan Fairly.[1] McLaurin ran for election to his seat in 2016.[2] He won the general election on November 8, 2016.

McLaurin received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and his J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law. Prior to his judicial appointment in May 2015, he practiced law with the firm of McLaurin & McLaurin and served as a family court master for Rankin County.[1]
