John Merrett
John Merrett was a judge for the Fourth Circuit Court in Florida. He was elected to this position in November of 2006 and was sworn in on February 1, 2007. His term expired in January of 2013.[1][2][3]
Education
Merrett received his undergraduate degree from Jacksonville University in 1982 and his law degree from Florida State University in 1986.[4]
Career
Merrett worked as a prosecutor in the State Attorney's Office for seven years prior to becoming a judge. He was elected to the circuit court in 2006.[1]
2012 election
Merrett ran for re-election on Aug. 14, 2012, but was defeated by challenger Suzanne Bass after receiving 40.8% of the vote.[5][6][7]
