John Michael Vazquez
John Michael Vazquez was a federal judge for the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. He received a nomination from President Barack Obama on March 26, 2015, to the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. His nomination was confirmed by the Senate on January 27, 2016.[1][2] He retired from the court on September 8, 2023.[3][4]
Vazquez was a partner at the law firm of Critchley, Kinum & Vazquez, LLC before his confirmation. Vazquez received a nomination from President Barack Obama on March 26, 2015, to the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.[1]
Education
Vazquez earned his B.A. from Rutgers University in 1992 and his J.D., graduating summa cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1996.[1]

On March 27, 2015, President Barack Obama nominated John Michael Vazquez to the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Obama stated regarding the nomination:
“ | I am pleased to nominate these distinguished individuals to serve on the United States District Court bench. I am confident they will serve the American people with integrity and a steadfast commitment to justice.[6] | ” |
The American Bar Association rated Vazquez Unanimously Well Qualified for the nomination.[7]
Vazquez had a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on July 22, 2015. He was reported to the full U.S. Senate on September 17, 2015. The Senate confirmed his nomination on January 27, 2016.[8][2]
He retired from the court on September 8, 2023.[3]
