John Morse (Colorado)
John Morse is a former Democratic member of the Colorado State Senate, representing District 11 from 2007 to September 10, 2013. He was defeated in a recall election on September 10, 2013, and replaced by Bernie Herpin (R).[1]
Biography
Morse earned his B.S.B.A. in accounting/finance from the University of Colorado in 1980, his M.B.A. from Regis College in 1984, his M.P.A. in Public Administration from the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs in 1996, and his Ph.D. in Public Affairs from the University of Colorado-Denver in 2001. His professional experience includes working as an emergency medical technician, Sergeant in the Colorado Springs Police Department, Police Chief for the City of Fountain and certified public accountant.

Morse sought re-election to the 11th District seat in 2010. He had no primary opposition. Morse won re-election to the 11th District, defeating Owen Hill (R), and Douglas W. Randall (L) in the November 2 general election.

On November 7, 2006, Morse was elected to the 11th District Seat in the Colorado State Senate, defeating opponent Ed Jones (R).[3]
Morse raised $120,037 for his campaign, while Jones raised $61,665.[4]
