John P. Zakowski is a circuit court judge for the Brown County Circuit Court in Wisconsin.[1][2]Zakowski was appointed to the position on December 21, 2011 by Gov. Scott Walker, and was elected in 2012 for a term that will expire in 2018.[3][2]

Education

Zakowski earned his Bachelor of Science in political science from University of Wisconsin-Madison.[2] In 1983 he earned his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School.[3]

Career

Prior to serving as District Attorney, Zakowski worked as an associate with the Green Bay law firm Nelson & Schmelling.[2]

  • 2002: E. Michael McCann Prosecutor of the Year Award[3]

Zakowski ran unopposed and was elected to the Brown County Circuit Court, Branch 6.[4]
