John Pappageorge
John Pappageorge is a former Republican member of the Michigan State Senate, representing District 13 from 2007 to 2015. Pappageorge did not seek re-election in 2014.
Pappageorge served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 1998 to 2004. He ran unsuccessfully three times in 1992, 1994, and 1996 for Michigan's 12th Congressional District. Pappageorge was a member of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners from 1989 to 1992 and the Michigan Secretary of State's Policy Planning Council from 1981 to 1984.
Biography
Pappageorge graduated with distinction from the United States Military Academy with a degree in Engineering in 1954; he also graduated from Army War College in 1973. Pappageorge also earned his master's degree in political science from the University of Maryland-College Park in 1974. His professional experience includes working as a Director of Business and Strategic Planning for General Dynamics Land Systems from 1984 to 1991. Pappageorge served in the U.S. Army in the infantry division from 1954 to 1984.

Elections
2011
On July 14, 2011, The Oakland County Election Commission approved recall language targeting Pappageorge for his support of House Bill 4361, which eliminated some tax credits while replacing the Michigan Business Tax. Organizers had to collect 27,001 signatures in a 90 day period in order to schedule a recall election.[1]
The efforts failed to collect enough signatures to place the recall on the November 2011 ballot.
2010

Pappageorge won re-election to the 13th District seat in 2010. He defeated Roi Chinn and David Kniffin in the August 3 primary. He then defeated Aaron Bailey in the November 2 general election.

On November 7, 2006, Pappageorge ran for District 13 of the Michigan State Senate, beating Andy Levin and Kyle McBee.[2]
