Campaign themes
2015
Persak's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[6]
Transportation
- Excerpt: "We need complete mobility for all modes: bikes, walking, buses, street cars, light rail, cars, and large trucks for a city-wide system that is efficient and safe."
The Tunnel project
- Excerpt: "I will demand transparency and protection as the Deep Bore Tunnel project continues, in order to protect our city from any potential cost overruns, damages linked to construction, and to ensure that we end up with a safe route through downtown."
Police reform
- Excerpt: "Police reform needs to be seen in the community, where it counts. My opponent has had plenty of time to reform policing; and, there are no results. Respecting civil rights, deescalation of conflicts with citizens, acknowledgment of racial disparity in our criminal justice system, and protection for all citizens are the results that I will bring."
