John Perzel
John Perzel (b. January 7, 1950) was a Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing District 172.
Perzel attended Temple University, Enterprise Junior College, and Auburn University. He then received his B.A. from Troy State University in 1975.
In 1979, Perzel joined the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He served in that position until 2010, representing the 172nd District.

2010
Perzel lost his bid for re-election to the 172nd District seat in 2010. He defeated Joseph Gaynor in the primary election, receiving 2,147 votes while Gaynor received 807. Perzel lost to Democrat Kevin Boyle in the general election which took place on November 2, 2010.[1]

2008
On November 4, 2008, Perzel won re-election to the 172nd District seat of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He received 18,507 votes, defeating Democrat Richard Costello (9,654).[2]

Noteworthy events
Sentenced to prison
Perzel was sentenced to up to five years in prison on March 21, 2012, after admitting he used public funds for a computerized election system in order to help Republicans will elections.[3]
