John Quinn (Massachusetts)
John Quinn (b. April 7, 1963) was a Democratic member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He represented the Ninth Bristol from 1993-2011.
Quinn is an attorney. He previously served on the Dartmouth Town Meeting from 1983-1986.
Quinn is Co-Chair of the Southeastern Massachusetts Legislative Caucus, and a member of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick, New Bedford Animal Rescue League Board of Directors, University of Massachusetts Cranberry Station Board of Oversight, University of Massachusetts Center for Policy Analysis Advisory Committee, and the Heritage Day of Portugal Committee.[1]

Quinn did not run for re-election in 2010.
2008
On November 4, 2008, Quinn won re-election for the Massachusetts House of Representatives election for the Ninth Bristol district.[2] In this election he raised $82,697-; of that total $78,984- (97.8%) was from in state contributions and $1,800- (2.2%) was from out of state contributions.[3]

2010 run for Sheriff
Quinn announced he would be leaving the legislature in order to run for Bristol County Sheriff in the November 2010 election. He stated that "the place is spiraling out of control" under the leadership of Republican incumbent Thomas Hodgson, and that he wants to bring transparency and accountability to the office.[4]
