John R. Essner
John R. Essner is a former associate circuit court judge for the 21st Circuit Court in Missouri.[1] He joined the court in 1999 and served until his death on August 14, 2020.[2]
Education
Essner received his undergraduate degree from the University of California-Los Angeles and his J.D. from Saint Louis University Law School.[2]
Elections
2016
Missouri held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election took place on August 2, 2016. The filing deadline for those wishing to run in the primary was March 29, 2016. Judges running in a retention election on November 8 had to file by August 23.[3] John R. Essner was retained in the Missouri 21st Circuit, Division 37, Associate Judge election with 57.43 percent of the vote. [4]
