John R. Hawkinson was a Minnesota Ninth Judicial District judge for Itasca County, Minnesota. He was elected to this position in 1992 and was re-elected in 1998, 2004, and 2010. His final term was scheduled to end in 2017, but he retired in late 2012.[1]

Education

Hawkinson received his B.A. degree in political science from the University of Colorado in 1971 and his J.D. degree from the William Mitchell College of Law in 1975.[1]

Career

Hawkinson worked as a private practice attorney from 1975 until his judicial appointment in 1992.[1]

2010 election

Hawkinson was re-elected after running unopposed.[2]
