John R. Morris was a judge for the Second Judicial District for the Farmington District Court in Davis County, Utah.[1] Morris was first appointed to this court in September 2004.[2] He retired from the court on December 31, 2020.

Elections

2014

Morris was retained to the Second District with 73.1 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [3] 

Performance evaluations

The Utah Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission, following a 2014 survey, recommended that Judge Morris be Retained. The full report is available here.

2008

Morris was retained to the district court in November 2008.[4]

Education

Morris received his bachelor's degree from Princeton University and his MBA from Brigham Young University. He went on to earn his J.D. from Brigham Young University.[2]

Career

Morris began his career working for Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro in California, and then for LeBoeuf, Lamb, Leiby & MacRae. He also helped found the Snell & Wilmer L.L.P's Salt Lake City office before being appointed to the bench.[2]
