An effort to recall Governor John R. Williams (R), also known as Jack, did not go to a vote in Arizona. Recall organizers needed to collect 103,000 signatures to trigger a recall election. Of the signatures collected, 81,658 were found to be valid.[1]

Recall supporters

The recall effort was initiated after Williams signed House Bill 2134 in 1972. The United Farm Workers Union was among the supporters of the recall.[1]
