John Sandy is a judge of the Iowa Court of Appeals. He assumed office on August 2, 2024. His current term ends on December 31, 2026.
Sandy was appointed to the Iowa Court of Appeals on June 28, 2024 by Gov. Kim Reynolds (R) to replace Thomas N. Bower.[1]
Biography
Sandy received his bachelor's degree and J.D. from the University of St. Thomas. Prior to his appointment to the bench, he served as a Minnesota Assistant Public Defender and practiced with Sandy Law Firm, P.C. in Spirit Lake, Iowa.[2]
Prior to his appointment to the Iowa Court of Appeals, Sandy served as a District Court Judge representing District 3A from 2021 to 2024. [3]
