Biography

John Small was born in Madison, Wisconsin. He served in the U.S. Air National Guard from 1969 to 1989. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point in 1970. His career experience includes working in government and as an animal health inspector. He has been affiliated with the American Legion.[1]

  • My career with local governments and State agencies will give me insights on the impacts of enacted legislation. There needs to be the right balance between State and Local government issues. Constituent concerns, Interagency cooperation, state agency relationships with Wisconsin residents, and wise budgeting are areas of interest
  • A biologist will say the meaning of life is the perpetuation of the species. Adults raising offspring and teaching them to become productive adults with more offspring. Nothing is more important than our children. Teachers from daycare to college must have a stable work environment, be valued, and properly remunerated. Perhaps it is time to discuss year round classes to avoid the summer education lapse.
  • Geraldine Feraro said it best. Her church teaches that all life is precious. But, if she was raped and pregnant she would not know what to do. She did know that government would not be a part of the answer. Reproductive health care is a private matter between a patient and healthcare provider.
Climate change is real. We must be diligent and alert to strive for clean air, clean water, and healthy soil. they must be treasured and protected
Demonstrated ability to lead and work with varied groups to gain consensus
Transparency and responsibility to complete an issue. Outcomes must be reported back to complainants.
