John T. Phillips (Illinois Circuit Court judge)
John T. Phillips is a former judge of the Nineteenth Circuit Court of Illinois. He was first elected in 2006, later retained in 2012.[1][2]
On January 4, 2016, Phillips announced his retirement from the court effective January 25, 2016.[3]
Education
Phillips earned an undergraduate degree from Coe College in 1969, going on to receive his J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1972.[4]
Career
- 2006-2016: Circuit Judge, Illinois Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Court (Elected)
- 1993-2006: Associate Judge, Illinois Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Court[4]
Prior to joining the bench, Phillips was a private practice attorney.[4]
2012 election
Phillips was retained on Nov. 6, 2012 with 78.6% of the vote.[2][5]
