Biography
Lamar earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Mississippi, J.D. from the Mississippi College School of Law, and LL.M. in Taxation from Washington University in St. Louis. His professional experience includes practicing law at the firm of Lamar & Hannaford, P.A. in Senatobia, and working as an adjunct professor at Northwest Mississippi Community College.

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 27, 2015.[1] No Democratic candidates filed for election. Incumbent Trey Lamar was unopposed in the Republican primary. Lamar ran unchallenged in the District 8 general election.
