John W. Campbell is a judge of the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals Western Section. He assumed office on February 10, 2022. His current term ends on September 1, 2030.

Campbell ran for re-election for judge of the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals Western Section. He won in the retention election on August 4, 2022.

Gov. Bill Lee (R) appointed Campbell to the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals Western Division on January 12, 2022, to replace Alan Glenn. The Tennessee General Assembly confirmed the appointment on February 10, 2022, and Campbell took office that day.[1][2][3]

Campbell previously served on the Shelby County Criminal Court Division VI in the Thirtieth Judicial District in Tennessee from 2012 to 2022. He was appointed to the court by Governor Bill Haslam (R) on November 1, 2012, to fill the vacancy created by the appointment of John T. Fowlkes to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee.[4][5] Campbell was then elected to the court on August 7, 2014, for an eight-year term.[6][7] He left office in February 2022 to join the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals Western Division.[3]
