General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 48.7 percent of the vote. He competed against John R. Nance.

Judicial performance evaluation
In July 2014, the North Carolina Bar Association released the results of a survey in which it asked lawyers to rate the judicial candidates for the trial courts. The candidates were rated from one to five on five different criteria as well as on their overall performance.[2]

Education
Webster received his B.A. degree from St. Bonaventure University and his J.D. degree from New England School of Law. He was admitted to the bar in 1996.[3]
Career
Webster is an attorney at Singletary & Webster, P.C. in Albemarle, North Carolina. According to the firm's website, his practices focuses mainly on "the areas of family law (custody, child support, divorce, property distribution, alimony, adoption and other matters), juvenile law, corporate/business law, wills/trusts, and most general civil litigation."[4]
