John W. Whitworth is a judge for the Benton County General Sessions Court in Benton County, Tennessee. He is based out of Camden, Tennessee. Whitworth also serves as a juvenile court judge for the Benton County Juvenile Court. He has served in this position since 2009 and was re-elected to the court on August 7, 2014. His current eight-year term expires in 2022.[1][2]

Education

Whitworth received both his undergraduate and J.D. degrees from the University of Tennessee in 1976 and 1979, respectively.[1]

Career

Whitworth began his career as an associate for the law firm of Frazier & Frazier. He later became a partner of Frazier & Whitworth. On January 1, 2006, he bought that firm and named it the Whitworth Law Firm. Whitworth then joined the Benton County General Sessions Court in 2009.[1]
