2014
Wallace's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[4]
Education
- Excerpt: "The New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) currently thinks it knows how to educate children better than professionally trained teachers. The NMPED currently thinks it knows how to spend our money better than democratically elected school boards. We need to allow teachers the freedom to educate our children."
Economy
- Excerpt: "For our businesses to remain competitive in the 21st century, investment in infrastructure is crucial. Building roads and bridges, installing high speed Internet in rural communities, and investing in human capital can ensure our economic growth. Low tax rates for small businesses will strengthen them as the backbone of New Mexico's economy."
Environment
- Excerpt: "Our state should be a leader in developing solar and wind technologies, as they are inexhaustible sources of energy. Companies and individuals who use alternate energy should be rewarded with tax credits. In all the ways we use the land protections for our wildlife must be maintained."
Agriculture
- Excerpt: "The investment in and maintenance of our agricultural infrastructure is a high priority. Access to water, clean irrigation ditches, advancements in technology and high-speed internet will help our farmers grow the food we eat."
Child Well-Being
- Excerpt: "It is startling that our state has become last in child well-being. All efforts should be made to protect New Mexico’s children from abuse, to provide them food, shelter, and a world class education so they have every opportunity to grow into productive members of our community."
