John Webb (Colorado)
John Webb was a judge of the Colorado Court of Appeals. He assumed office on February 1, 2002. He left office on February 29, 2020.
Webb was appointed to the court on February 1, 2002, by Republican Gov. Bill Owens and was retained by voters in 2004 and 2012.[1][2]
Education
Webb received his bachelor's degree from the University of North Dakota in 1970 and his J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School in 1973, Order of the Coif.[3]
Career
Webb was admitted to the bar in 1973 and clerked for U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit Judge Robert H. McWilliams from 1973 to 1974. Webb was an attorney with the law firm of Holmes Roberts and Owen, LLP from 1974 to 2000 and then with the firm of Jacobs Chase Frick Kleinkopf & Kelley LLC from 2001 until his judicial appointment.[3]

Webb was retained in the general election on November 6, winning 71.63% of the vote.[4]
Judicial performance evaluation
The Colorado Commission on Judicial Performance announced its recommendations for judges up for retention in 2012. The commission evaluates judges based on the following criteria: integrity, legal knowledge, communication skills, judicial temperament and administrative performance.[5] Webb was recommended for retention by a 10-0 vote. [6]
