My beautiful supporter and partner Keila, and my wonderful children Rebecca and Julius are the rocks upon which I find the strength to work hard and provide for them everything they want and need. That strength has now inspired me to try and provide a better life and superior government for the people of Derry and the Great State of New Hampshire. I hope you and I can work together to make that hope a reality for all.
  • Environment - Earth, our only home.
  • Economy - Better opportunities for all
  • Healthcare- is a human right.
I uphold many core values of a progressive, one of them being the fight for social justice where it is needed; Women's rights, Minority rights, LGBTQIA+ rights, Economic rights, Religious rights and Environmental rights. We should live in a society where people do not merely support community-enhancing changes but rather embody a model of government reform and standards of living that empowers and protects all citizens.
All my personal idols are scientists. But politically, perhaps a mix of FDR, Bush Sr, and Barack Obama. Im a strong believer in the activist government; providing a foundation for those less fortunate, a safety net for everyone and protecting the commonman and the environment from exploitation and abuse by the wealthiest capitalists among us.
So many it is hard to summarize but the works of Heather Cox Richardson and Robert Reich (among others) would be a fair assessment of my political and sociological perspective.
Elected officials should treat their role with honor and dignity. Overcome legislative intransigence and political vitriol with an attitude of rising above the fray, as to present to the residents of NH a model of civility and commonground that will make our government and community healthier, stronger, and more effective than what has come before.
I would like to believe that my skills as an intermediary throughout my career has prepared me for a role where my ability to speak clearly and effectively to the average person, along with a charismatic attitude that attempts to include all perspectives and feel sympathy for most causes and issues would allow me to properly glean and express the wants and needs of my constituents to the congress I would be apart of.
First and foremost is to connect with the residents in their districts. Members of all parties, or of none, community as a whole. Once elected an office holder is the representative for all their constituents, not just those who elected them.
Second, is to be as well informed as possible, so that legislative perspective is intune with what people in the community experience in work, life and play. Without that connection and understanding, leaders become stagnant and fail under their own preconceived notions or ideals.
I would love to have been the candidate in NH that backed and pushed forward with legislative actions implementing fair voting laws, including Ranked Choice Voting, as well as justice reforms related to budgeting and bail reform.
I was an order taker on an automatic phone system for a catalogue company for about a year.
I would have to say "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho. As its narrative strikes close to my heart and almost always brings me to moments of tender tears. A close second would be "Guns, Germs, and Steel" by Jared Diamond, as I am in constant awe of the length and breadth of our history and the intricacies that such knowledge can unfurl.
I would be Batman. A dark knight, working in the shadows to bring justice to those the system overlooks, while also being mortal and human, remaining grounded with the common citizen.
Just last week, a friend and I were reminiscing over music of our youth, and the song "white and nerdy" by Wierd Al was stuck in my head all day.
I have always questioned the value I can bring to an organization. Having grown up in rather extreme poverty with far less access to opportunities as compared to the average legislator, I struggle sometimes, to convince myself and others that I have something worthwhile to contribute to the discussion.
In NH the House is a legislative body that directly represents each municipality within the state, while our senate is districted in such a way that they generally represent the larger counties within the state, encompassing multiple municipalities.
Sometimes it can be a boon to have prior experience in governing. I also believe the political class have lost touch with the average person, with most being older, retired or independently wealthy individuals. More working class people, such as myself, who have experiences and lifestyles closer to the middle class, will better represent the constituents they work for in government.
For NH, maintaining a thriving economy without the destruction of our natural habitats and their beauty is essential. Our economy is heavily dependent on tourism, and we need to expand job opportunities that will draw people, especially youth, to come here and stay here; without damaging our ecosystem to create those job opportunities.
A relationship based on mutual respect and accountability, where instead of separate or rival aspects of government, they are partners who work together to legislate for the benefit of all NH residents.
Yes. Coalition building is the only way to garauntee to ones constituents that the agenda they supported in electing one, will actually proceed into legislative action. There is no governing alone in a true and proper democracy.
An independent bipartisan (nonpartisan) council of civilians should be the people who determine fair and balanced districts.
I would hope to be welcomed in one or more of the following committees:

Science, Technology and Energy
Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs

Environment and Agriculture
If welcomed to participate in a leadership role, I would hope my part would involve party community engagement, network development, and legislative innovation.
Not particularly. There are many great legislators, past and present, within NH government. I would try to follow the best examples while being my own man, accountable to the constituents within my district first and foremost.
I tend to not put the cart before the horse. I would do my best to achieve my role as Representstive with dignity and honor. If called to serve at a higher/different capacity, I would accept that honor, if the time was right and my family supported the change.
I would say the pandemic has put a certain focus on this years elections and the stories of citizens within our state. Small businesses and essential employees struggling to get through this tough time have stories that are particularly potent to me. I want to support and improve the public and private lives of those individuals, however I can.
